Ever since I was just seven years old, I have wanted to become an author. I didn’t know what it was called at the time, but I always wanted to write a book and let people see it. I always wrote stories. I even got the award for best story-teller in second grade.
I’m finally realizing this thirteen-year-old dream of mine.
Okay, so I’m not really close to being published yet. Nowhere close. I’m getting there, though. Right now, I’m in the process of working on my second draft. I’m not really too fond of the editing, but it has to be done, right? Especially with all the stumbling blocks, it’s hard to believe that I’ll ever get it done. I’m not quitting yet, though. There is no way I’m quitting when I’ve come so far.
Every Wednesday, I’ll keep you updated at how far I’ve come. I plan on getting pretty far every week, so it’s not the same thing that I’m saying every single week. Maybe I’ll get the second draft done in just a few weeks, and send it off to a friend of mine who will hopefully agree to look at it! If not, I’ll skip that step and go straight to beta readers. Hopefully, I’ll get a handful of those.
I currently have five pages of my second draft done. Hopefully next Wednesday, I’ll have even more!
