The Road to Being Published

It’s Wednesday again, so it’s time for another update.

I’m so proud of how far I’ve gotten this week! Hard to believe I was going to take June off of writing new material… That certainly changed.

Days of the Kill is still on hold…yet again. Joy. Still looking for money. I’m almost halfway, though. My next paycheck will take me to be just over halfway, so I can certainly look forward to that.

I completely the third draft to The Path to Biological, which I may have said last week. I can’t remember. But I have one major rewrite to go before I start the beta reader hunt, which is really exciting. I will start working on that tomorrow, or…something like that.

The Child of Fault is still on hold. I took a month off when I finished the first draft. That month is almost up. I should start working on it again before posting next week.

Bethany’s Corpse is going so well! I have just over 24,000 words. I can’t believe how far I’ve come on it. It’s really amazing to think about how far it can go. I guess it also helps that I went on a writing sprint of 5,000 words on Saturday.

Well, I guess that’s about all the progress for this week. Hopefully I have even more progress to announce next week! Until then…stay tuned!

The Road to Being Published

It’s Wednesday again, so it’s time for another update.

I’ve done a little more than usual this week! Not as much as I was hoping, but at least I’ve done more.

Days of the Kill is still on hold, because I’m still waiting to be able to afford the editor that I want. Slowly but surely seeing the money in the bank rise. It goes so much slower when you only get paid every other week. Oh, well. At least I know that it’s slowly getting there.

The Path to Biological I’m finally seeing progress in. I have less than 100 pages to go in the third draft! Once I hit the fourth draft, I’ll still have a long way to go. I may have to do more than four drafts before I reach out for the beta readers. I sure did a fine job at picking a difficult plot!

The Child of Fault is finally making progress! I got just over 4,000 words done this week, and I am so happy about that. I’m still behind what I said I was going to do…but I’m definitely getting there. I think I’m getting close to the end. It’s a shame to see it end, but I’m so ready to be done with the first draft! After I get done with the first draft, I can start on yet another project. 🙂

Well, I know it’s a shorter post this week, but I think that about does it. I’m more excited about my progress than I have been in a long time.

Until next week…stay tuned!

NaNoWriMo 2014

Despite what I said in my last post, I have decided to participate in National Novel Writing Month 2014, better known as NaNoWriMo.

I must be crazy to want to do this, but I really feel like I can. I feel like I can at least get close. I want to actually feel what it’s like to try and take on the crazy task of getting 50,000 words in just 30 days. It’s crazy, but I feel like I can do it.

I’m not quite sure how that’ll go over with school and work yet. Today and tomorrow I’ll be finding that out. Maybe I’ll try to stay at least a day ahead. I know I am already.

To get 50,000 words in 30 days, you have to write about 1,667 words a day. It’s crazy, believe me. It doesn’t seem to be too hard, though. I already have almost 7,000 words!

I’m sure I’ll be able to do it if I can stay a day ahead. I won’t be able to write late tonight like I’ve been doing because I have to be up at the time I’ve been going to bed these last couple nights. Hopefully, I can get enough done during the day so I’m not playing catch up with my schedule late tomorrow night.

I will try to update you every Monday about NaNoWriMo. I’ll let you know how the progress is coming along.

Are you participating? Feel free to let me know in the comments!

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I need to be off and get to writing. Happy NaNoWriMo, everyone!
