Another Wednesday, another update.
I guess not much has really changed. I’m still getting closer every day to being done with my second draft of Days of The Kill. I’m getting close to being done with the second chapter. I hope to be working on the third chapter by next Wednesday.
I actually got done with chapter one later on in the day after I posted last week. Maybe it will be the same with this week. Who knows? I’m getting closer to getting to the shorter chapters. Maybe then it’ll seem to go a little more quickly.
It seems to be moving slow for me right now, but in reality, it’s actually moving pretty fast. We’re five days into November, and I’ve already done 22 pages worth of editing this month! Talk about progress. I’m looking forward to seeing how far I can get before December.
Along with editing Days of the Kill, I have also decided to participate in National Novel Writing Month, or NaNoWriMo. My second novel will be called The Healing. I’m trying to do 50/50 with both, but right now The Healing is kind of a priority since I’m trying to get it done in a month. Don’t worry, in December, it will be back to really buckling down on editing Days of the Kill!
I’m excited to see how well I can do as a published author, and I’m really excited to see the finished project of Days of the Kill. This is farther than I ever imagined I would get. It’s also a lot more work than I thought it would be! (Keep in mind, I was just seven years old when I decided I was going to write a book…)
I can’t thank you all enough for your support. For those of you liking my posts, thank you. I wouldn’t have kept going for this long if I thought nobody was supporting me. It’s good to know there is support coming from unknown places.
Your support is the reason I keep you updated. Thank you, everyone.
A few days ago, I told you about my new goals in life. One of them was finishing the first draft of my novel by the beginning of 2015. That is still a goal of mine, but I am very excited to say that it may be finished before then. I have done a total of 65 pages this month, and the month isn’t even over yet. I’ve finished three short stories. I finished short story number five just last night, and I am very excited to start the sixth today. After I finished the sixth, I just have one more to go.
I’m extremely excited at how fast this is going. I always dreamed I would become a published author, but I never thought I would actually get to a point where I would need an editor and actually get closer and closer to it. Lately, it has occurred to me that one of my closest friends is really supporting me through all of this. He even asked me about my next book last night!
Thank you to everyone that has been supporting me throughout this whole thing. I know, there’s been doubt because when I first started writing, I wasn’t serious about it at all. I would just write every once in a while instead of almost everyday. Thank you to everyone who has stuck with me throughout all of this. I will always be grateful to those of you who support me.
Tomorrow, I leave for vacation. Where am I going, you ask? I will be going to the Grand Canyon. I’m looking forward to it, for sure. I will be seeing things that I haven’t ever seen before. I’ve never been, so I’m not quite sure what to expect.
I love my job, but I have to say that I’m actually glad to be off for a week. Let’s be honest, you know you need the time off when you’re quoting The Cat in the Hat Comes Back off the top of your head… Your voice tends to be shot after reading it for three straight hours. (:
I’ve taken several vacations before — one of them even out of the country. All of them have something really special about them. I have to say, though, I’m looking forward to this one more than the others. Well, there may be an exception for Estonia. That one was pretty exciting.
I’m not sure what all will be in Arizona, but I know I’m looking forward to that. Everyone on Facebook and Twitter with me will see, but I will be sure to post in more detail on here too.
What are some of your favorite vacations? Let me know. This is still a new blog, but it’s taken off tremendously. Thank you, everyone, for taking time out to read it. I look forward to hearing from all of you.
